Rachid Amui holds an MBA from Imperial College Business School. He is currently working in the research section of the commodities branch in the Division of International Trade and Commodities at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). His research interests are in the area of indigenous oil field services development, job creation in the extractive industries and commodity price risk management. At UNCTAD, Rachid’s work also includes advising public sector entities in Africa on issues related to sustainable development of the extractive industries. Rachid played a major role in planning and organizing the Africa OilGasMines conference. Prior to joining UNCTAD in 2003, Rachid worked extensively in the field of structures and foundation engineering and holds an MSc in this field.
