Are there any specific local content projects that Total will be highlighting at the ALC 2018 event?

The ZINIA phase 2 project will be highlighted at the ALC 2018 event. As one of the Brownfield projects launched this year to sustain Block 17 production, the local content of Zinia phase 2 project will be showcased through three main packages: Subsea Umbilicals Risers and Flowlines (SURF), Subsea Production System (SPS) and Floating Production Storage Offloading unit modifications as well as respective outcomes in terms of terms of man hours, fabrication and equipment.

What in your view are the common challenges in implementing strong local content policies in the Oil and Gas sector?

The common challenge is among others to ensure local content policies adapted to the current environment and one that provides enough flexibility to optimize costs and yet enhance the local economy in a sustainable manner.

As the leading operator in Angola, please share your thoughts on why it is important to work with local companies across the value chain strengthen capacities and transfer know-how and increase local capability.
